Our Lunch Yesterday…This roasted chicken with five spices and soy sauce is so tender and so light in taste, yet so yummy…. 🙂

Side by side with Chicken Charsiu…made my dinner table looks like Chinese Restaurant brunch table 🙂

here is the recipe

Soy Sauce Chinese Chicken Roasted

1 pair of chicken thighs

3 garlic
140ml dark soy sauce mixed with 100ml water
2 granulated sugar
1 teaspoon five-spice powder
2 – 3 slices ginger

*Clean the chicken
*Chop garlic into two for each
*For the marinade, combine the dark soy sauce, granulated sugar, five-spice powder, ginger and the chopped garlics.
*Place the chicken in a large bowl, marinate the chicken in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours (preferably all night) – Make sure that all the chicken is coated in the marinade.

*Preheat the oven to 230C
*Place the chicken on a rack in a roasting pan. Roast for 15 minutes.
*Reduce the heat to 190 degrees Celsius. Roast the chicken, basting frequently with the reserved marinade, for another hour or until it is cooked. (To check for doneness, pierce the chicken in the thickest part of the thigh. The juices should run clear.
*Chicken ready to eat.

another way is:
*put all chicken and marinade in to the large sauce pan and cook for 30 – 45 minutes until the chicken in cook perfectly, than transfer the chicken in the roasing rack with Pan under neath than put in the oven for 15 minute at 190C
